Mock Trial is a competitive program where students learn about how a trial is conducted and then actually perform their side of a case in front of a judge in competition.

Very early in the school year; usually right before or right after Labor Day.

From after auditions to Christmas Break. The length of the season depends entirely upon how well the team competes.

Usually a team practices two or three times a week in preparation for competitions which traditionally begin in November.

PLHS has generally had two teams. Teams have six to eight members. Students from any grade level are encouraged to audition for the team. Students who participate multiple years are historically more successful in competition.
The 2008 season was an outstanding season for the entire Mock Trial program here at PLHS. Both the varsity and JV teams advanced to the regional finals. The varsity team triumphed and traveled to the state chmpionship in Lincoln where they captured an honorable mention trophy after competing strongly against the teams that won first and second place. The varsity team leaves as a unit, all seven seniors will be moving on to college in the fall, leaving lots of opportunity for the JV members to move up and make their marks.
